Cindy Denise Grise's Obituary
Cindy Weber Grise was born in Dallas, Texas on March 12th, 1955, and passed away in Dallas on March 9th, 2024. Cindy loved Dallas and was a diehard Texan through and through. She grew up right outside downtown Dallas, where she resided until her mid 20’s. She was a true Dallasite and had so many stories from growing up here. She attended Crozier Tech and North Dallas High Schools. She graduated in 1973 as Salutatorian of her class. One of her proudest accomplishments.
Her first job was working at First National Bank in downtown Dallas. Where she excelled.
She was married in 1980 and became a stay-at-home Mom to her daughter Kelly in 1981. She loved being a Mom and it was the most important thing she ever did. She was very involved in Kelly’s school activities until she graduated. She got divorced in 1999.
She began working in 2000 at various offices in Dallas including the law firms Jenkens & Gilchrist and Munsch Hardt as a library assistant. She always loved books so the opportunity to work in a library was very exciting for her. She enjoyed her time at both law firms and made some wonderful friends there along the way. In 2012 she began working at the Aviation Institute of Maintenance as a librarian and then a proctor. She loved being a proctor because she was able to test people from all corners of the world. She started a map in the testing room so people could pin where they were from. She was always excited to have someone from a new location to add a pin to the map. She loved the work family she had there and really cared about the students that she met. She continued working there until she was forced to take medical leave in late December of 2023.
In her spare time, she loved hanging out with her daughter Kelly for all kinds of adventures. She loved reading, which she passed along to her daughter too. One of her favorite things was attending concerts and live music. She loved all kinds of music, there really wasn’t anything she didn’t like. Including going to the Dallas Summer Musicals regularly since she was a young adult. She loved going to the State Fair of Texas every year as it was a long-standing family tradition she had done since childhood. She was a Dallas Mavericks fan, enjoying any opportunity she had to go to a game. As much as she loved to do things, she was a true homebody. Happy to be home watching NCIS or other crime dramas. Always, ready to watch the latest movies that are out and old classics. She was really up for anything!
She grew up in church her whole life loving God and being involved wherever she belonged. The first she attended was Zion Lutheran on Lovers Lane where she was baptized and confirmed. She made sure that her daughter learned this too. She never forced it but lead wholly by example. She really loved unconditionally as the Bible teaches us to every person she ever met. She was generous even when she didn’t have much to give, she still gave what she could. If she had something someone else needed she would just give it without a second thought. Over the last 11 years she was involved in City Point Church in Allen, Texas. She volunteered on their hospitality team serving her favorite drink, coffee. She loved City Point and was happy to be involved there and see it grow from the beginning.
She leaves behind her daughter Kelly who will miss her the most. She leaves behind many cousins and family members that all loved her. She leaves behind more friends than she ever realized from every part of her life, including all of her daughter’s friends that thought of her like a second Mom.
We take joy that she is at peace with her heavenly Father in heaven and those she loved that went before her!
Her memorial service will be Tuesday, March 19th at 2pm. Location Restland Wildwood Chapel in Dallas, Texas.
