Clairene Miller's Obituary
Clairene Miller was our mother. She was a talented writer of both prose and poetry and the creative compass of our family. She died Dec 9, 2018 on her sisters Birthday at the age of 91. She taught us the value of thinking for ourselves and being honest with ourselves and with others. Always our champion on issues mundane or profound, she gave us her unquestioned benefit of the doubt. She taught us how to trust and, in so doing, how to establish real and Lasting Love in our lives. She was born in Howard County, Arkansas on Feb 1, 1927. Her family later moved to Texas. She finished 2 years of collage at NTAC, now North Texas AG. Clairene was blessed with many talents, known and unknown. She was a published author, she was a very private person who wrote under an alias. She wrote Detective Stories and Romance Novels. She was fast in typing and shorthand that led to a job for the Secretary of the Navy. She was a distinguished artist and did many works in pastels and charcoal, including a mural of The Naivety Scene covering a Public School wall. She loved to play the guitar and harmonica, had a beautiful voice to sing. She married Newel Miller on Aug 20, 1948 and they had 2 daughters and 1 son. She was a very caring person who loved her family. She was a wonderful Mother, grandmother, sister and Aunt. She was preceded in death by her daughter Annalisa Miller Flores. She is survived by her daughter, Maxine Miller Scott and her husband Leonard Wayne. Son, Phillip Baylos Miller and wife Mari, grandchildren, Kelly, Leonard, Brad, Nicole and Marc.Funeral Service will be Saturday, Dec 15, 2018, 3:00 PM at the Abby Chapel, Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Av, Dallas, TX 75243. Visitation will be Friday, Dec 14, 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.
