Clarence John Heckman's Obituary
HECKMAN, CLARENCE JOHN 90, of Dallas, TX, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2013. He was born on June 12, 1922 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to Leroy and Dora Heckman. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1944 with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He served in World War II in the Army Signal Corps and was awarded the Bronze Star. In 1946, he married Lovalee Presley. Clarence worked for Dallas Power & Light Company for 41 years as a Principal Engineer. He was also a Registered Professional Engineer and Master Electrician. Clarence was a long time member of the White Rock Kiwanas Club. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Dallas, and attended the Double Ring and Aldersgate Sunday School classes. Clarence and Lovalee enjoyed coordinating their Sunday School Class Retreat at Lakeview Methodist Assembly, which became a 50 year family tradition. Clarence also enjoyed serving with Lovalee in the clothing ministry of the Crossroads Community Service. Clarence is survived by his wife, Lovalee; his children, Gail Simpson, Glen and wife, Mary Heckman, and Randy and wife, Karen Heckman; his seven grandchildren, Rachel Simpson, Garrett Heckman, Gavin Heckman, Kristen Heckman, Brian Heckman, Kevin Heckman, and Allison Heckman; and his great grand-daughter, Allison Barnes. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 3 2013 at Restland Wildwood Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to the service starting at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Clarence Heckman at Crossroads Community Service, 1822 Young Street, Dallas, TX 75201.
