Clarence Winfred Landers' Obituary
Clarence Winfred "Win" Landers was born in Plano, Texas on May 8, 1933 and passed away peacefully at home on November 18, 2025, at the age of 92, surrounded by his loved ones.
Win grew up in Oak Cliff attending Sunset High School, class of 1951. He played both ways on Coach Byron Rhome's 1950 State Championship team. He attended NTSU on a football scholarship.
Win then joined the workforce at Vought Aircraft in Grand Prairie adjusting ailerons. This led to a sales job in the automotive parts industry with Eaton Corp. After several successful years, Win took a chance on a defunct auto parts distributor called ALTO Warehouse in 1975. In 1985, ALTO was the top auto parts supplier to 400+ independent jobbers in the Southwest. ALTO was sold in 1985 and he and his wife retired and played golf at Stonebridge and spent many hours at Texoma boating. Win shocked everyone by outliving them all!
Win is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 23 years Judy Landers. Daughter and son-in-law Cathy and Tommy Dunnegan, daughter Karen Cooper, "favorite ex son-in-law" David Cooper, granddaughter and family Casey, Brian, Beckett and Betsy Call, granddaughter Kelly Cooper. Also survived by stepson, Bret Dickey and several step-grandchildren.
Pre-deceased by his wife of 50 years, Nelda Landers and their son, Cary Wynn Landers, parents Clarence and Inez Landers and sister Eva Smith.
Family meant everything to Win Landers. He always took care of his family and had plenty of laughs and quirky friends. He was a force of nature and will be greatly missed.
