Clarence William "CW" Herd's Obituary
Clarence William “CW” Herd, age 87, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022, in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by family and friends. He was born to Clarence William Herd Sr. and Erma Lois Birdwell on September 19, 1935, in Greenville, Texas. CW served his country and was honorably discharged from the Air Force. He was an auto mechanic, college instructor and dabbled in land management and bee keeping. He loved dogs, enjoyed building and fixing things, and visiting with family and friends.
CW was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Sr. and Lois Herd, his brothers Jerry and Kenny Herd, and granddaughter Brittany. He is survived by his son Stephen and daughter-in-law Carie Herd, daughter Rebecca “Becky” and son-in-law Stephen Rice, daughter Kathleen “Kathy” Herd and son-in-law Robert David, son William “Bill” and daughter-in-law Teressa Herd, and girlfriend Barbara Jones.
He loved his family and enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow. He was survived by grandchildren Stephanie, James, Sam, Luke, Jeremy, Lindsey, Amanda, Chris and Katie, and great grandchildren Luke, Jojo, Josh, Maddie, Geniveve and Savanna.
Visitation for CW will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243. Funeral service will be held at Restland Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 14, 2022.
