Clarice June Morris' Obituary
MORRIS, CLARICE JUNE Age 89, passed away peacefully June 17, 2011 in Plano, Texas. Clarice was born June 4, 1922 in Scotia, Nebraska. She is preceded in death by her parents John Thomas Warford and Lavon Irene Schuyler, her four siblings, and her husband Rex D. Morris. Clarice was raised on a farm in Ord, Nebraska. She learned the importance of being self sufficient. She received her teacher certification from Hastings College in Nebraska. After living overseas in Central and South America and teaching in the American schools, the family returned to Plano and she received her Masters of Education at TWU in Denton. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional teacher’s organization. She taught middle school many years in Plano I.S.D. She loved playing bridge, traveling around the world and was an avid reader. She will be dearly missed by her family. Her survivors include her two children Patricia Ann Tuck (Terry) and Rex David Morris II (Susan) along with four grandsons Shane & Dean Tuck and Schuyler & Stuart Morris. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, July 8, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas Texas. Graveside service at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday July 9 at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Plano, followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made for a memorial scholarship fund to the Maya School, an American School, in Guatemala City, Guatemala which Clarice helped establish.
