Clark served his country from 1942 to 1946, during World War II, in the Navy as a cook. He was stationed in Hawaii. Off duty hours he worked at the Dole Plantation picking and packing pineapple. Clark worked hard all his life. He was dedicated to his God, his wife and his children. He returned to school in 1953 graduating from Oklahoma A & M as an electrical engineer. In 1960 he started his own business, Camp Electric, in Amarillo. He built the home he and his wife have lived in since 1983 out of lumber from a barracks he purchased when Amarillo Air Force Base closed. He was an avid gardener producing enough beautiful vegetables to share with friends and for mother to have through the winter months until the following years harvest. He loved to tell stories of his life to his children, grandchildren and anyone who would come to visit. He had a dry sense of humor and often entertained his children around the dinner table each evening with the newest elephant or crocodile joke. He was loved and cherished by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. THE RAINBOW By Angelia Lea Cope, August 1983 This beautiful thing from the sky Was brought down from God For you and I This beautiful creation Seen from nation to nation Was a gift of love From up above The many bright colors That He can only show Can only appear But as a Rainbow. TO THOSE I LOVE AND WHO LOVE ME Author Unknown When I am gone, release me, let me go – I have so many things to see and do, You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears, Be Thankful for our beautiful years. I gave to you my Love, You can only guess How much you gave to me in Happiness… I thank you for the Love you each have shown, But now it’s time I traveled on alone. So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must, Then let your grief be comforted by Trust. It’s only for a time that we must part, So bless the Memories within your heart. I won’t be far away, for life goes on, So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear All my Love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile, and say – “Welcome Home!” Service will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 12:30 PM at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
