Claude D Bell's Obituary
Claude D Bell, Jr. was born Jan 15, 1918 and died peacefully on December 13, 2014 at the age of 96. He was married to Valerie Mather Oberwetter in September, 1940 until her death in December 1997 .He is survived by his son, Claude D. Bell III, also known as “Skip”, of Dallas and his grandson John Thomas Freeman of Portland, Oregon the son of Jane Bell Freeman who passed away in 2006. He lived the majority of his life in Dallas starting school at Armstrong School in Highland Park, going on to Highland Park High School and graduating from Southern Methodist University. He graduated from the University of Texas, School of Law in Austin, Texas in 1942 and was a practicing attorney for over fifty years. He served with distinction as an Officer in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired as a Commander after 38 years in the naval reserve following his active duty. Claude Bell, Jr. will be laid to rest at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave. at 3:00 on Monday, December 22, 2014. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243 In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
