Claude Commodore Perry Jr.'s Obituary
Claude Commodore Perry Jr. of Garland, Texas passed away on November 21, 2019, at age 93. Claude was born on September 27, 1926 to Claude and Hazel Perry in Sherman, Texas. After attending Sherman High School and then the University of Texas at Austin, he graduated with a Bachelors of Science from Austin College. His education launched a successful accounting career. He was a Certified Public Accountant for more than 40 years and his employment included Squibb Taylor Inc. and 21 years as the Comptroller of the State Fair of Texas. Claude served in the Unites States Navy during World War II and was a member of the Masons, Scottish Rite, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Highland Park United Methodist Church Discovery Class. He loved sports and his family fiercely and was a lifelong fan of the Texas Longhorns. To know him was to love him and he will be greatly missed. Claude is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Margaret and his wife of 51 years, Donna Mae Newton Perry. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Griesing and her husband Mike: granddaughter, Stephanie Anderson and her husband Shayne; 3 great grandchildren, Allie, Ashlyn, and Aaron; sister-in-law Rosemary Newton, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his dearest friend Olive Coe and her family Cyndy Emmert and Art Roberts and Barbara and Alden Schiller.
