Clement Kwok-Hung Young's Obituary
Clement Kwok-Hung Young was born in Guangzhou, China in 1934 and passed away peacefully at the age of 87 at his home in Plano surrounded by family. He was a devoted and loving family man.
Clement got his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma Baptist University and a Masters and PhD in Math from UT, Austin. But he had a special place in his heart for Baylor University where he received a Masters in Religion and where he met Camie. He also enjoyed the company of a lot of childhood friends who ended up attending Baylor and they invited him to move the family back to Hong Kong in 1977 to work at Hong Kong Baptist University. Clement worked there for 19 years as Academic Registrar. He also served with the Baptist Convention of Hong Kong for many years and as Superintendent of Pui Ching Middle School, his alma mater.
He was always active in church and maintained lifelong friendships from youth and college fellowship groups. And he enjoyed spending time with friends from the Evergreen fellowship group. Clement’s first priority though was always his family and he planned weekend fishing and crabbing trips to Corpus Christi when the family lived in Kingsville. In Hong Kong, he took them to many local beaches, hiked mountains on Lantau Island, and enjoyed weekly dim sum all for the purpose of spending time together as a family. He also loved to travel and took the family all over the world. More recently, he organized annual family vacations with all the grandkids to Vancouver, San Diego, Seattle, San Francisco and Boston.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kam-Har “Camie”, his two sons, Wesley and Daniel and their families with 5 grandchildren (Marla and LeeAnn, Rachel, Marisa, Jillian, Jenna and Josiah). He is also survived by his sisters - Yvonne who lives in Vancouver, and Constance and Anna who are in Hong Kong.
