Cleo "June" Powell's Obituary
Cleo “June” Powell passed away peacefully the morning of Friday, Aug. 23, 2019 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 94.June was born on June 28, 1925 to parents Pete and Hazel in rural Oklahoma during the great depression and was one of eight children. The Family moved to Texas soon after to escape the dust bowl and settled in Garland, Texas where she met and married the love of her life, Cleo Powell. As residents of Garland Texas for over 50 years, June and Cleo had three children and built a successful business that still remains today, Powell Manufacturing Company. A strong woman of faith with a deep love for the Lord, June was also a lifelong Member of Reinhardt Bible Church where she served faithfully.June will always be held in the hearts of all who knew her and loved her as an exceptionally beautiful and sweet soul. She was known for her kindness, cleverness, and generosity. She will be remembered for her graceful living and one that always balanced working hard and enjoying life. She treasured her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren but also allowed time for her other passions of gardening, traveling and ceramics.Above all else, this wonderful woman has left a permanent mark etched on the hearts of all she left behind and she will forever be missed. Although our hearts are heavy we will celebrate her life and find comfort that she in heaven joined by those family and friends who preceded her and are all watching over us.She is preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Powell; Son, Donald Powell and grandson, Rick Powell. June is survived by her Son, Richard (Laura) Powell; her daughter Jayme Powell and many grandchildren and great grandchildren across Texas.All are welcome for a visitation on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home.Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Abbey Mausoleum at Restland Cemetery.Funeral arrangements have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243.
