My family and I were next door neighbors of the Beights from 1968 until 1979 and for the first 9 years of my life. I have fond memories of Cletus. I remember running over next door to help him pull carrots from his garden. I also remember seeing Cletus working in his yard wearing his jumpsuit. And I remember his belt buckles as that’s about all I saw with him being so tall and I a little girl.My dad remembers the first time he met him. Cletus handed him a pepper over his fence from his garden that was so hot, however, Cletus was un-phased by the heat. And my mom remembers the peaceful comfort of their home, beautiful children, and wonderful babysitters.The first time I heard the song, Feliz Navidad, we were going to visit Cletus Christmas of 1981. Every time I hear that song, I think of him.Thank you sincerely for being such a good neighbor and giving my family and I fond memories.Feliz Navidad…
