Cmdr. Clifford Ray Huff, USN
January12, 1931 – September 22, 2025
Beloved Son, Husband, Father,
Grandfather & Great Grandfather
Clifford Huff was born on January 12, 1931, in Ben Wheeler, Texas, the youngest son of Nathan David Huff and Anna Bell Cook, where he lived until he enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17. Clifford proudly served as both a sailor and commissioned officer for 31 years, reaching the rank of Commander.
During his life in the military, Clifford and his family had the opportunity to live in many different places across America, and the world, including: Pearl Harbor, HI, Washington DC, Fontainebleau, France, Banbridge, MD, Great Lakes, IL, San Diego, CA, Zion, IL, El Cerrito, CA, Adak, AK, Colorado Springs, CO, Monterey, CA, Kensington, MD, and Carrollton TX.
Everyone agrees that Clifford Huff lived a long, full, and rewarding life. He was hard working and responsible and always provided for his family’s needs. He fell in love with his wife Marilyn at the age of 20 and was married to her for 70 loving years. Along his life’s journey, Clifford and Marilyn raised a wonderful family with four sons. After his retirement from the Navy in 1978, they settled down in Carrollton, Texas and built their dream home. Clifford continued to work 10 years for Collins Radio, a division of Rockwell Industries, on U.S. Navy communications projects.
Clifford and Marilyn continued to enjoy traveling across America in their recreational vehicle for many years. During this same time Clifford embarked on many various journeys to recover and document his family's genealogical history. Many of the journeys of discovery were accompanied by his nephew Benny Huff.
Clifford’s occupational specialty in the Navy as a Radioman blossomed into his retirement life when he began collecting and restoring antique radios. To this day, Clifford's antique radio collection lives on, in the form of the Huff Radio Museum, at the home of Benny Huff, in Brownsboro, Texas.
Clifford is survived by his sons, Steven, Dennis, and Donald, their wives,
six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and his dog, Punkin. Clifford was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Joyce Huff, and his son David Wayne Huff.
