Clifford Everett McCamey's Obituary
Clifford Everett McCamey, lifelong native of Dallas, Texas was born on March 19, 1924 and passed away on October 07, 2014. He is preceded in death by his father, Oscar Newton McCamey (from Troy, MS), mother, Edith Lillian Rose McCamey and wife, Phyllis A. McCamey. Clifford was the 7th of 8 children, all his siblings preceded him in death; Melvin, Buford, Oscar, Dorothy (Venita), Margaret (Edith), Ruth, Elva. He is survived by his sons, Edward N and wife, Helen McCamey and Clayton E. and wife, Kimberly McCamey; daughter Carolyn A. McCamey; grandchildren, Heather L. McCamey, Michael D. and wife, Trish McCamey, Katie McCamey and partner, Brandy Richmond, and Olivia Linn; two step-grandchildren, Tiffany R. Bates-Stroud and husband, Russell Stroud, and Derek M. Bates; great grandchildren, Alexa M. McCamey, Christopher E. Bates, and London H. McCamey, and numerous nieces and nephews. Clifford graduated from North Dallas High School and worked for 15 years for the Texas and Pacific Railway. He served in the Navy during WWII and Korean Conflict. Clifford was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and was a volunteer at Doctor’s Hospital in Casa Linda for 18 years; he amassed in excess of 8500 hours of volunteer service. The visitation for Clifford will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Pm on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. A Holy Eucharist for Clifford will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 848 Harter Road, Dallas, Texas, 75218. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75238. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to White Rock Center of Hope, 10021A Garland Road, Dallas, Texas.
