Clifford Watson's Obituary
Clifford Alton Watson was born February 12, 1934 in Dallas, Texas and passed away on July 18, 2015. Cliff played football at Sunset High School winning two State Championships. He continued his passion for football at Texas A&M College with a football scholarship. At Texas A&M College Cliff discovered two things that he would come to love even more than football; his High School sweetheart Shirley Madison Watson and Mechanical Engineering. After graduation in 1955, Cliff worked for DuPont until he was called from the Reserves to serve in the U.S. Army in 1957. He was Honorably discharged from the Army in 1961 and pursued his career goals in Garland at Varo System and Tepco Air Cleaning Systems. Along the way, Cliff and Shirley had three boys who would all go on to graduate from their father’s favorite University, Texas A&M, and work at their father’s company, Clean Air Consultants, that he established with the help of his son Frank Watson in 1987. Besides his love for Texas A&M, Mechanical Engineering and his family, Cliff enjoyed volunteering his time towards the development of youth at Orchard Hills Baptist Church with frequent water and ski trips and later by teaching his adult Sunday School class. Clifford touched the lives of countless people during his 81 years of healthy life on this earth with his kindness and willingness to teach and help in any way possible. He will forever be missed by family and friends. Preceded in death by his wife Shirley Watson and sister Joyce Lynn Robertson. He is survived by his three sons: Frank Watson (Rhonda), David Watson (Paula), and Tom Watson (Rebecca) and grandchildren Andrew, Roger, Caleb, Rachel, Rebecca, and Ryan Watson. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 6-8PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 9:00 AM at Orchard Hills Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
