Clifford Daniel Watson's Obituary
Clifford Daniel Clifford Daniel Watson, Jr., our beloved "Pop", passed away on July 8, 2021. He was born on May 23, 1930 in Altus, Oklahoma to Cliff and Elsie Watson. Dan graduated from Sunset high School in Dallas in 1948. He attended SMU earning a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1952 and then on for a master's degree from Oklahoma State. After college the Air Force took Dan to Wright Patterson Air Base in Ohio where he met the love of his life, Shirley Mae Miller. They married in 1956 and moved back to the Dallas area settling in Richardson with their two sons Mark and Jim. Dan worked most of his career with Texas Instruments in their radar division, retiring in 1989. Dan's lifelong project was his lake house on Cedar Creek Lake which he loved to share with friends and family. We will always remember those happy days and his big smile. Pop was everyone's handyman, never missed a challenge to fix anything for anyone. Dan was a man of strong Christian faith and was comforted in knowing that he was going to be with the Lord. This gentle kind man will be missed by all. Dan is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley Watson, sons Mark (partner Milaca) and Jim (wife Kim), grandchildren Ashley (husband Adam), Mat (wife Jordan), and Kathryn (husband Patrick) and great grandchildren Brooks, Tripp, Charlee, Kate, and Ford. Dan was preceded in death by his brother Jack and sister Gina.
