Clinton "Harold" Hawkins' Obituary
Clinton “Harold” Hawkins was born on September 20, 1925 in Prosper, Texas, and left this earth for his Heavenly Home on August 12, 2015. As a young man, he served in the Army infantry as a foot soldier in WWII in France and Germany. Upon his return, he met and married the love of his life, Doris Duncan Hawkins, and they soon added a much-cherished foster daughter, Linda Joy, to the family. They were married for 62 years, making their life together in Denton and Carrollton, TX. After working for Coca-Cola and being a partner in a Conoco franchise, Harold worked in the air conditioning business, and retired as owner of his own company, where he served thousands of friends and neighbors. Harold loved the Lord. He and his family were long time members of First United Methodist Church of Carrollton, followed by many years at Valley View Christian Church, and finally First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch. He is survived by his wife, son Michael (Vicki) of Keller, daughter Cheryl Beal (Robert) of Frisco, and much beloved granddaughters Nicole, Jensen, and Katelyn. He is also survived by his sister, Geraldine Keller of Dallas, and his brother and sister-in-law Kenneth and Nelda Hawkins of Denton, plus many much-loved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hardy and Cora, his brother, RB, and his niece, Linda. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, August 14, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch. A celebration of Harold’s life will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 10:00 AM, at First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch. Interment will be at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 11:30 AM with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch or The Salvation Army.
