Mr. Clyde Fred Falk's Obituary
FALK, CLYDE was born on April 21, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois, and died on July 12, 2007, at his home in Dallas. He is survived by Margaret Falk, his beloved wife of 57 years, his children, Steven Falk, Kenneth Falk, and Carol Vang, and his grandchildren, Jordan Falk, Elizabeth Falk, Laura Vang, and Tony Vang. Clyde was raised in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from the University of Illinois in 1949 with a degree in Accounting. After moving to Texas in 1954, he passed the CPA examination. He practiced Accounting for many years, first for Kemper Insurance, and later, after his retirement from Kemper, on a part-time basis for the Jerrell Sims Agency. He also provided personal income tax service for many individual clients. Clyde was especially proud of his service in the U.S. Army, 4th Engineer Amphibian Brigade, from October, 1942, through December, 1945. His service included combat in the Pacific Theater and participation in the occupation of Japan in the Fall of 1945. Clyde traveled widely throughout his life within the United States and to many European countries, Mexico, Canada, and Australia. He particularly loved the mountains of New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. Clyde was an active and loving participant in the lives of his children and grandchildren and attended their innumerable baseball games, band and orchestra concerts, theater productions, and dance recitals. He was widely read and intellectually curious about many topics, especially U.S. and military history. Finally, with his wife, he was an avid bridge player and belonged to a number of local bridge clubs and groups. Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home, Sunday, July 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, July 16, at 2:00 pm, at Lake Highlands Methodist Church, 9015 Plano Road, Dallas, TX 75238.
