Concha Rodriguez's Obituary
Maria Concepcion “Concha” Rodriguez was born Sept. 24, 1919 in Eagle Pass, TX to Julio and Esperanza Reyna. She grew up in a neighborhood called “Little Mexico” on the north side of downtown Dallas. Her parents were the owners of the San Antonio Café, one of the early Mexican food restaurants. She had three sons and one daughter. During WWII she worked at Chance-Vaught as a Riveter. She was a life-long member of Emanu-el UMC now Casa Emanu-el. She loved her church and her children continue to be active members. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women. She was a great cook and many of her pastors ate at her table. She’s proceeded in death by her husband Pedro Rodriguez, her brother Salvador Reyna and her sister Irene Salcido and her daughter-in-law Josie Gomez. She is survived by her children Isabel and Katy Gomez, Rudy Gomez, Frank Gomez, Patricia and Lazaro Valdez. She has 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 6- 8 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 10 AM at The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park. 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
