I thank God for giving me a loving mother-in-love like Mom. She was patient, gentle, beautiful inside and out, so elegant and organized. I love her like my own mother. Mom loved her grandchildren and she spoiled them. I love you Mom, and I will miss you dearly. We will be good, and we will see you again in Heaven. 💕 Lucy.
Connie. We have traveled a lifetime. Those early years The same age The same hopes The same fun being kids You had a special spirit Kindness Laughter Fairness Those moment to moments of youth Are now memories Life brought us to different places spaces of time A Christmas card always enough to bring back visions The Gerfer's store Coker Church- and that easter egg hunt in the cemetery The short down the road trip to our Grandparents Where they dished out ice cream and unconditional love Thanks for those moments Your special spirit Now eternal But never will leave my vision Your Cousin Joe DeKunder
I grew up getting to spend time with Aunt Connie when she and Uncle Bob lived in Austin. She made everything fun, she was always laughing and smiling. I will count myself forever blessed to have had her as my aunt. One day, all of us will be together again. She is with Jesus, my grandparents and my dad. I can only imagine that reunion.

I am her husband of 57 years, Robert Emmick. Connie was truly the love of my life and I will miss her greatly for the rest of my life. Connie was the best thing that could have happened to me – she simply made me want to be a better man. I'm certain that God knew I needed her and so he put me in her life. I am blessed to have been her husband. She was very special.
