Connie Louise Floyd's Obituary
With profound sadness we announce that Connie Louise Floyd passed away on November 3, 2021, at the age of 61, where she resided in Denton, Texas. Her battle with serious medical issues for many years showed her courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Connie came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
Connie was born on March 21, 1960, to Billy and Wanda Watson in Dallas, Texas. She was raised primarily in the Dallas metroplex but had the opportunity to live a few of her childhood years in Africa prior to attending and graduating from North Mesquite High School in 1978.
Connie was a dedicated daughter, sister, mother, aunt, but first and foremost, a dedicated grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and friends enjoying a good family BBQ at the lake, a game of washers, or a competitive game of shuffleboard. She loved to show off her baking skills by showing up to parties with fabulous cakes, cookies, and goodies. She also treasured attending her children’s and grandchildren’s events such as birthday parties, gymnastics, taekwondo, football games, and baseball games. Over the past several years, she cared for her grandchildren and was a very special “Mimi” to them all.
Connie was competitive as a shuffleboard player and was part of the North Texas Shuffleboard Association. She won many tournaments, trophies, nominated as team captain in several local leagues, and was very well recognized as a top competitor throughout the country. She was a compassionate and loyal friend and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed.
Connie is preceded in death by her mother Wanda Watson, 6 aunts, 5 uncles, 1 nephew, 2 dogs (Vicious and Cinnamon).
Connie is survived by her father Billy Watson; sister Tina Watson; brother and wife Rodney and Kelly Watson; former sister-in-law Lorri Watson; daughter and husband Alicia and William Trapp; son and wife Josh and Rachelle Floyd; son Jeremy Floyd; son and wife Jason and Stephanie Floyd; nine grandchildren David Trapp, Ariel Trapp, Kaleb Berryman, Daniel Trapp, Chloe Cue, Kaysen Floyd, Journey Floyd, Shelby Floyd, Ashlynn Floyd; plus 2 Aunts, 2 uncles, 1 Niece, 3 Nephew and many beloved friends. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
