Connie Patrick Nicholas' Obituary
Connie Patrick Nicholas passed away peacefully on December 1, 2022 at age 84. Connie was born on July 22, 1938, in Grand Forks, ND to Henry and Ethel Sundahl. The family moved to Dallas, and she attended Hillcrest High School followed by the University of Texas at Austin. At UT, Connie met many lifelong friends and was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.
Connie was outgoing and friendly and never met a stranger. She was a dedicated member of Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, belonged to the Junior League of Dallas and spent many years helping stage the annual Junior League Ball. She loved singing and dancing, playing tennis at Northwood Country Club, playing poker and bridge with her girlfriends, volunteering at St. Michael’s Woman's Exchange, cheering on her Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys, and traveling to Estes Park, Colorado for vacations every year.
Connie used her outgoing personality to thrive as a co-owner and eventually the sole owner of the Tulip Tree gift shop. The Tulip Tree was a fixture in Highland Park Village and eventually relocated to Lovers Lane. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a friend to anyone or any animal that was lucky enough to meet her.
She is survived by her children, Beth Patrick Sullins and Brooks Trezevant Patrick Jr. (Trez), her daughter-in-law Becky Patrick and her grandchildren, Connor Sullins, Anna Patrick and Brooks Patrick III. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ethel, her brother Roger, and her husband Theron Nicholas.
A service of thanksgiving for her life will be held on Saturday, January 7th at 1:00pm in the chapel at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. Memorials in her honor may be made to KERA.org or SPCA.org.
