Constance Joan Smith's Obituary
Joan Smith passed away suddenly on July 21, 2007 in Denver Colorado. She was born in Dallas on April 18, 1935. She graduated from North Dallas High School and later earned her nursing degree. Joan was employed by Baylor Medical Center in Dallas for 32 years. After spending her first years in the Hoblitzelle Wing working with women and children cancer patients, she transferred to the drug rehab and psychiatric units where she worked until her retirement. Joan was preceded in death by her parents Eulen and Hazel Owen. She is survived by her soul mate, love of her life and husband of more than 52 years, Billy Edward Smith. She is also survived by her sons Ed Smith and wife Terri of Destin Florida, Brad Smith and wife Kathleen of Highlands Ranch Colorado, Glen Smith, also of Highlands Ranch, grandson William Smith and fiancee Bianca Braschler of St. Petersburg Florida and granddaughter Tiffany Smith of Navarre Florida. She also leaves behind her loving sister Scherrie Young and husband Leonard of Holly Lake Ranch Texas, nieces Sherylen Yoak, Kerri Chiccola, Lisa Young and nephew Greg Young. She will best be remembered for her loving, fun spirit, her perpetually positive outlook and her deep faith in the Lord. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
