Consuelo G. Lozano's Obituary
Consuelo Garcia Lozano was born in Laredo, TX to Francisco and Juanita Garcia on December 4th, 1919. She was a loving daughter who helped build a family-owned business, The Red Store #1 in Cotulla, TX. On December 25th, 1940 she married Antonio Garza Lozano from Fowlerton, TX. They resided in Cotulla until moving to San Antonio, TX where she began to raise her six children: Corina, Tony Jr., Cristella, Leonel, David and Clarisa. In 1965, her husband’s work led them to Dallas, TX, where she continued to work and raise her children. The boys worked alongside their father to build Tony’s Dump Truck Service. Their lives were filled with much joy until June 16th, 1983 when Consuelo and Tony lost their son, Leonel in a fatal car accident at the age of 26. Although they struggled with this tragic loss, they were able to find strength in one another and continued to live a full life together until Tony “Sr.” was called to heaven on December 31st, 1996. Consuelo was a wonderful example of love and strength and continued to share that with her five children, ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Consuelo suffered another loss of a second child on May 28th, 2015. Her oldest son, Tony Jr. suffered and fell victim to Scleraderma, a debilitating and deadly disease. His pain throughout the illness would also show on Consuelo and cause her intense sorrow. The Lord took her home on September 6th, 2015, just four months following Tony Jr’s passing. Chelo will always be remembered for her generous and loving disposition, the love to cook and the ability to tell her many life experiences with much laughter. She excelled in helping people in need, often putting other’s need ahead of her own. Her love for God brought her much comfort. She spent many hours in prayer or watching her favorite channel EWTN where she heard mass daily. She is survived by four children: Corina Delgado and her husband Ruben Delgado, Cristella Vidaurri, David Lozano and his wife DeAndrea Lozano, and Clarisa Godwin and her husband Mark Godwin; As well as ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren who will forever miss her joy.
