Corinne Susan Nash's Obituary
Beloved wife and mother of three, Corinne “Corky” Susan Nash, of Lavon, TX, passed away
with her husband and children by her side on July 13, 2022, at the age of 60, after a courageous
battle with cancer.
Corky was born on January 23, 1962, in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she was raised. She was the
third of four children, born to Verl “Gene” Harris, Sr., and Sharon Lee Harris Busch. She moved
to North Texas in 1985. Corky married Ronald Timothy “Tim” Nash on June 12, 1993, and they
raised three children together. She enjoyed a career as an office administrator at several
companies, her previous church, and most recently for five years at J. Volk Consulting in Plano,
TX. Corky also cherished her time working at a local flower shop in Rowlett, TX, where she
became quite good at floral design and even helped her daughter-in-law with the bouquets for
her son’s wedding in the fall of 2021.
Corky has always been known for her infectious smile and laughter, and the fact that she never
met a stranger, much to Tim’s chagrin! Her faith was incredibly important to her, and she was a
devoted member and served in the children’s ministry at their church, Waterbrook Bible
Fellowship. Some of her other simple pleasures were Wheel of Fortune, word search puzzles,
traveling to the beach, and from day one, absolutely any animal she could get her hands on.
She was known to bring home or rescue a dog, which ended up being a 10+ year commitment
each time, and she even volunteered with the “Big Cats” at In-Sync Exotics, a tiger and wildlife
rescue in Wylie, TX.
Corky deeply loved her husband, three children, and two children-in-law, and it was her greatest
joy to spend time with them, around a table or sharing laughs and stories in the living room. She
will be deeply missed by many, and her family and friends will honor her legacy of Light, Love,
Joy, and Kindness as we remember her today and always. She is survived by her husband of
29 years, Tim; son, Nels (Mallory) Nash; daughters, Melissa Nash, and Shelby (Zachary)
Carnefix; parents, Gene (Phyllis) Harris, and Sharon Lee Busch; sisters, Christa (John)
Yoakum, and Sam (Doug) Burks; brother, Jake (Beth) Harris; and many aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, and cousins.
Please join us in celebrating Corky’s life at 10:00am on Friday, July 22, 2022, at The Heights
Church, 201 W. Renner Rd., Richardson, TX, 75080. If you wish to make a donation, please do
so to a charity you are passionate about, in Corky’s name.
