Cornelia Lundgren's Obituary
Cornelia Lundgren passed peacefully at the age of 98. She is survived by her 3 children Signe, Christian, and Andrew, and her grandchildren Cornelia, Andrea, Patrick, and Carmen. The family invites you to a memorial service at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church in Richardson, TX on Saturday, October 16th at 10:00am. The service will also be live streamed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Barnabas. Cornelia was born on April 14, 1923, to John and Ruth de Jong in Minneapolis. She graduated from Iowa State University as a Tri-Delta, and began a dietetic internship at Stanford University Hospital. Her career in dietetics spanned 59 years, including work for the Infant Welfare Society in Chicago, Parkland Hospital and Shady Brook School in Dallas, and Head Start Programs nationwide. She was also very involved in her community in Richardson, TX, including being a charter member of St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder and trustee of the deacon; member of the Richardson Symphony Orchestra Board; member of the Friends of the Richardson Library Board; active member of Richardson Reads One Book. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William Lundgren. Her family thanks you for all of your love and support.
