Corrine was raised on the Allen family farm In Arp, Texas. She met Cullen Louis Tubb, Jr. while they were both students at Arp High School and they were high school sweethearts. After graduation In 1943 she worked as a switchboard operator for the local phone company.Early in their marriage, Cullen established his own company and Corrine was his biggest asset, serving as the secretary and bookkeeper for this venture, while continuing to raise her children and make their home a safe, healthy, fun environment for three rambunctious boys. The family was among the earliest members of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in Dallas. Her days were filled with the busy occupations of mother, wife, and business partner. And she excelled at each of these. She is remembered lovingly by her grandchildren as Granna. She taught them the luxury of unconditional love and acceptance. Along the way she also taught lessons of homemaking, gardening, sewing, cooking, and a wonderful love of nature and all its animals, bugs and birds. She was able to help them learn to appreciate some of the finer things in life, while also helping them enjoy just being kids and running and playing. She was a very energetic grandmother who always had toys to play with, and a bed to sleep in. Her grandchildren knew they were always loved and welcomed at Granna’s. Corrine had twenty-four nieces and nephews, among whom she was a favorite relative, known fondly as their Aunt Co. Her home was always a place they were welcome, and she often had a niece or nephew staying with her, whether dropping in for a visit, stopping by on business, or recuperating from an illness. She could be counted on to lend a helpful hand, a listening ear and an open invitation to make their home with her as long as they needed or wanted. She was always available to welcome and love her family and she was loved and admired in return. Granna has been missed by her family for many years, even while she has still been here on this earth. The family is grateful and blessed that this final prolonged chapter of her life has come to an end and her earthly body has released its grip on her beautiful soul. A celebration of Corrine’s life will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Wildwood Chapel in Restland Memorial Park, Dallas,Texas.
