Thank you Father Craig for brinng me closer to Christ and to your wonderful church. We will keep the faith keeping your church and your ministry alive. You will be missed by all of us who had the pleasure of your time. Love Joe
Josh and Lauren: I am sorry for the loss of your father you 2 are in my thoughts. May these scriptures bring you some measure of comfort and hope. John 5:28.29 Revelation 21:3.4
"Well done good and faithful servant." I know that Craig recieved these words. He was one of the most Christ-like people I have ever known, and has modeled joy in suffering wonderfully. My thoughts and prayers to the Merkel family.
Fr. Craig always managed to make us laugh. The way he smiled always made the hardest moment bearable. I always heard my priest rode a Harley but could not resist taking a picture one day when I was at the church. My family will forever remember his smile and pleasant welcoming nature.
Father Merkel was my priest and a wonderful friend. I will really miss him.
Dearest Stephanie, Craig's life was an exemplary life here on earth, and I'm sure that through the years your prayers and love have been and are a blessing to you both. How can we not grieve each of us in our own way for Craig had a profound affect on many as he did me. I just liked being aaround him when the occasion arose for I instantly felt a warm presence – a man truly one with God. It is my hope that in time you will find genuine peace as you release Craig to the keeping of God. I love you. Aunt Jennie

Dear Stephanie, We never had doubts that you were in good hands with Craig. He is a man who transcended generations before and after his. We certainly sensed the goodness that God expressed through him, so steadfast and timeless. God certainly shall grade him "A ",and you an "A " too for latching on to such a gem! Love you, dear niece
Our thoughts and prayers are with Father Craig's family and all of those who knew and loved him. We hope his family finds comfort in the knowledge that he was loved, and will be missed, by so very many whose lives he touched and inspired.
