Curtis Lewis McCarty's Obituary
Curtis Lewis McCarty “The Tall Texan”, 84, was born February 23, 1934 to William and Pauline McCarty in Paris, TX and passed away on May 11, 2018 in Dallas, TX. He married Bobbie Sue Chism on May 19, 1954 in Dallas, TX and was the owner and operator of Orbit Automotive in Dallas for over 55 years. Curtis was a member of New Mt. Zion Baptist church and former Brotherhood president at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church for over 20 years. From 1956-1957, Curtis served in the US Army as a private. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna McCarty Taylor; and a brother, Collin McCarty. Curtis is survived by his wife, Bobbie Chism McCarty; daughter, Vicki McCarty Hallman-Bowman (Jeffery); son, Malcolm McCarty; sister, Irene Hicks; brothers, Michael McCarty and Gary Taylor; 3 grandchildren: Tiffini, Nickolas, and Suzanne. Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Dallas, TX on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Restland Cemetery in Dallas.
