Curtis Hill True's Obituary
Curtis Hill True, born in Longview, TX August 14, 1933 to Leslie Hill True and Rose Virginia True, passed away December 2, 2016 after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. During his life he was a gifted and distinguished athlete, winning accolades as a boxer, football player, and wrestler. He served his country it the armed services, and was a devoted Christian. Ever the hard worker, Curtis believed in the power of a positve attitude, and brought that attitude to everything he did. He didn’t have many hobbies to speak of; he would rather have been working. He would wake up in the early morning hours to nurture his body and spirit. He would read his Bible for hours in the morning before going to work out. All this just to start the day, which would be filled with many hours more of hard work. This work ethic and his positive attitude rubbed off on those who were lucky enough to spend time with Curtis. On June 27, 1964 Curtis married Mary Jo Angelo, to whom he was devoted until her passing, October 4, 1996, and whom he continued to love the rest of his life. On May 20, 1975, Curtis and Mary Jo welcomed their son, Leslie Charlton True, into the world. Curtis worked hard every day for his family, and was a loving and dedicated father and husband. He was also a loyal friend who’s faith supported him always. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Hill True and Rose Virginia True, his sister Leslie Vesper, and his wife, Mary Jo True. He is survived by his brother Ted True, his sister Sally True, his son, Leslie C True, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who all loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Curtis’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association. Services for Curtis True will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 8, 2016 at, with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service in the Abby Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
