Cynthia Jo Lyddy Armstrong, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, peacefully left this world on September 9, 2023. Born as the youngest of four sisters in Nashville, Tennessee, on February 12, 1948, she embarked on a lifelong journey that led her to Dallas at the young age of 4, where she discovered her lifelong home for the next 71 years.
Cynthia's legacy lives on through her devoted daughter, Jamie Scaff, her son-in-law, David Scaff, and her beloved grandchildren, Zach Scaff, Jake Scaff, and Charlee Scaff, affectionately known as "Meme" to them. She also shared a deep and cherished friendship with her neighbor, Marvin Thompson, creating countless precious memories. Her unwavering commitment to her family, especially her grandchildren, was profound; she never missed a grandkid's event.
Her eclectic style was a testament to her creativity and free spirit, evident in both her fashion choices and home decor. Cynthia was an exceptional cook and loved being in the kitchen with her grandkids, imparting the magic of culinary arts to them. She instilled a love for cooking within her family through classes and encouragement. Dinner at Meme's house was always a delicious adventure.
Cynthia led an active life, enjoying yoga and walks with her neighbors. Her boundless passions and talents knew no bounds. With her green thumb, she transformed ordinary gardens into breathtaking landscapes, showcasing her love for vibrant flowers and lush greenery. She had a particular affection for cacti, adorning her garden with unique splendor. In addition to gardening, her creative spirit shone brightly in pursuits such as jewelry making, sewing, and mosaic artistry. Cynthia's deep appreciation for the arts, particularly musicals, brought joy to her life. Countless nights at the theater with her daughter Jamie and granddaughter Charlee forged an unbreakable bond, strengthened by their shared love for the performing arts. She also delighted in visiting museums, sharing her passion for art with her grandchildren, creating memories that will be eternally cherished.
Professionally, Cynthia was a thriving businesswoman, proudly owning an insurance agency that she managed from the heart of her home. Her dedication to her clients was matched only by her commitment to her family.

A celebration of Cynthia's life will be held on September 27 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 503 N. Central Expressway, Richardson, TX 75080.
