Cynthia Ann Neinast's Obituary
On April 16, 2025, Cynthia Ann Neinast——known to all who loved her as Cindy—passed away at the age of 67 in Dallas, Texas.
Cindy was born on February 8, 1958, in Midland, Texas, to John Stewart Thomasson and Margaret Ann Coe Thomasson. Growing up, she lived in many places thanks to her dad’s work with Shell Oil, but she eventually made her way to Irving, Texas, where she spent her teenage years. After graduating from MacArthur High School in 1976, she headed west to Lubbock and earned her degree from Texas Tech University in 1979.
Soon after, Cindy began her career at EDS and later found her stride at Bank of America, where she led project management teams with confidence, kindness, and a strong work ethic. She retired in 2016 after a long and successful career.
She was a devoted mother to three wonderful children shared with Ret Little, and on February 6, 1998, she married her beloved husband, William (Will) Neinast Jr., her rock and partner in life. Together, they built a beautiful, blended family of seven and made their home in Richardson before moving to Dallas in 2011.
Cindy had a deep love for family, friends, and life’s joyful moments. Whether it was dancing and singing with her grandchildren, shopping with friends, cooking her unforgettable meals, or traveling—especially to her favorite spot, Florida—she filled every room with laughter, warmth, and love. Her sense of humor, strength, and unwavering resilience were a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
Cindy is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Alyssa Ann Little, and her parents, John Thomasson and Margaret Thomasson Huckabee. She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Will Neinast; her children Jennifer & Josh Johnson of Katy; Bret & Emma Little of Fort Worth; Trey & Sandi Neinast of Cedar Park; and Tyler Neinast, also of Cedar Park. She also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren—Olivia, Luke, and Haleigh Johnson, and Liam and Ana Neinast—whom she absolutely adored and delighted in spoiling. Additional survivors include her siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews, and so many friends.
In October 2021, Cindy was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of Stage IV cancer (signet ring cell carcinoma). With unwavering faith, perseverance, and optimism, she fought valiantly for three and a half years with incredible courage. Through it all, her love for her family never faded, and she looks forward to the day she will be reunited with her loved ones in Heaven.
