Daisy Lee Davis-Horman's Obituary
Daisy Lee Smith Davis-Horman, age 88, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 2, 2024. She was born December 21, 1935, in Morganza, Louisiana to her parents Elvin Howard and Ursula LeBlanc Smith. She graduated nursing school from Charity Hospital, New Orleans in 1957 and worked as an RN for more than 40 years. Caring for people was her passion as she worked in many areas from CCU to House Supervisor and took much pride in her long career. During her time as a nurse, she was one of the first people in Dallas County to become CPR certified. She played a significant role in training the Dallas Fire Department. Daisy was married to John R. Davis Sr from 1959 until his death in 1989. Later in life she was fortunate to be married again to Edwin Horman in 2003 until his death in 2021.
Daisy was preceded in death by her parents Elvin (1944) and Ursula (1997), her brother Howard Smith, and her loving husbands. Those left to cherish her memory include her sister Myrtle Bolner and husband Jim; three children, John (Jack) R. Davis Jr and wife Lisa, Charles (Chuck) E. Davis and wife Patty, and daughter Linda A. Diaz and husband Jorge. Grandchildren: (Jack’s children) Robert (Bobby) Davis, Molly Davis, Joshua Davis, Madelyn Davis; (Chuck’s children) Brittany Kluzek and husband Josh, Lindsay (Luna) Davis Nickerson and wife Veronica; (Linda’s children) Michael Diaz, Michelle Diaz, Brandon Diaz, Brooke Diaz; Great Grandson Joseph Kluzek, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services will be held at Restland Dallas Memorial Chapel, Saturday February 17th at 10:00 am with burial to follow.
