Dale Wayne Garrett's Obituary
Dale Wayne Garrett was born January 2, 1941 in Garland, Texas, and went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2021.
Dale lived in Garland all of his life and was a graduate of Garland High School, class of ‘59. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from North Texas State University and he served for 10 years with the Army National Guard. Dale retired from a 28 year career as a Subcontracts Administrator with Rockwell International in 1999.
Dale was a life-long member of First Christian Church in Garland and served faithfully in many roles including Sunday school teacher, deacon, elder, and chairman of the board. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He was passionate about cooking delicious food. Dale loved to dabble in art and you could often find him sketching or drawing. He never met a stranger and was always ready to share a great story. He was an avid reader. He was optimistic and he was kind. More than anything, he loved his family.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents Art and Oneita Garrett.
He leaves behind his twin brother Dennis Garrett, his loving wife of 56 years, Judy, his son Clay Garrett and wife Stephanie, his daughter Susan McFarland and husband Brooks, grandchildren Brady McFarland, Cara McFarland, Christina Garrett, Caitlyn Garrett, Lauren Garrett, Tyler Brignon and Zoe Brignon, great grandchild Elijah Ball, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 10:30 AM at First Christian Church in Garland.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dale’s name to First Christian Church, Garland.
