Dale Fellows Lynde's Obituary
Dale Fellows Lynde, aged 90, died peacefully on June 23, 2016. Dale was born in 1925 in Wichita Falls, Texas, the daughter of William Isaac Fellows and Edna Artissima Anderton Fellows. Dale had two sisters and one brother. Dale enjoyed athletics, especially tennis, swimming, and bike riding. Her family operated various businesses during the great depression in the 1930’s. Dale graduated from Southern Methodist University, where she learned French and other languages. She went to work for the Social Security Administration in 1947 until the mid 1970’s. She married Warren Lynde in 1953 and they had a son, Douglas Lynde, in 1957. Warren and Dale both loved music, dancing, and the arts. Dale was a member of Ridgewood Park Methodist church, where she took care of the infants while the parents attended services. In addition to taking care of home, she enjoyed working in her yard and definitely had a green thumb. Dale was a very generous person and had many friends from her college days. She is survived by her son, Doug and his wife, Renae, step-grandson, Stephen and his wife, Angela, and 6 great step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held in The Abbey Chapel at Restland Memorial Park, Thursday June 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ridgewood Park United Methodist Church, 6445 E. Lovers Lane, Dallas, Texas 75214.
