Dale Eugene Pippenger's Obituary
PIPPENGER, DALE EUGENE was born on June 19, 1931 in Elkhart, Indiana and passed away on March 28, 2014 in Allen, Texas. He joined the Navy in 1948 and was stationed at Millington Air Force Base close to Memphis, Tennessee. He started attending First Evangelical Church in Memphis where he met his wife, Jean. They were married in 1950. He received an Honorable Discharge in June 1952. After he was discharged he went to work for WHBQ TV in Memphis. In 1957, he obtained a job at Texas Instruments, in Dallas, where he worked as an Application Engineering Manager. He retired from T.I. on Sept 30, 1991. He attended Northwest Bible Church in Dallas with his family for many years, where he served as a youth group volunteer leader and a deacon. In 1978 they began attending Richland Bible Fellowship, now known as Woodcreek Church in Richardson, TX. He was also active in helping start the first Young Life Clubs in the Richardson area. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, sailing, and other activities with his family. After he retired, he and Jean traveled across the United States in their motor home. They were married 63 years. He is survived by his wife, Laura Jean Pippenger; son, Wayne Eugene Pippenger; daughters, Laura Dale Pippenger Bloch and Diane Elaine Pippenger Gresham; grandchildren, Daniel, Megan and Maxwell; and sisters, Verna Stouder and her husband, Chuck, Carol Kay Gregg and niece and nephew, Sandra Stouder Balbo and Charles W. Stouder. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Woodcreek Church in Richardson.
