Dale William Zadow's Obituary
Dale William Zadow, a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at the age of 89 on November 23, 2017, in Allen, Texas. Dale was born in Sidney, Montana on September 25, 1928, to William and Katie Zadow. He graduated second in his class from Sidney High School in 1946 and graduated from Montana State University in 1950 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Tau Beta Phi Honorary Society, Phi Eta Sigma and Scabbard and Blade. He was the first Montana State military student to receive a US Army commission since the beginning of the war and was designated as a second lieutenant. He married Alma Schmidt in 1952 and soon after they had two sons. Dale was employed by Sun Oil Company for 35 years before retiring in 1987. He also worked part-time for Sears for over 30 years. He was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Dale enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, cruise vacations, and family reunions. He is survived by his wife Alma; sons, Dr. Lynn Zadow (Allison) of Plano, Texas; Douglas Zadow (Lisa) of Melissa, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah Zadow of Seattle, Washington, Sydney Williams (Joe) of Willow Park, Texas, Shelby Guthrie (Aaron) of Argyle, Texas, Drew Zadow (Chrissy) of Richardson, Texas and Skyler Zadow of Melissa, Texas; great grandchildren, Reid and Rhett Ferguson, Judson, Bishop, Rowan and Hogan Williams; sister-in-law Mary Zadow of Tacoma, Washington; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Katie Zadow; sister, Verna McCleery; brothers, Ralph and Daryl Zadow ; and brother-in-law Bob McCleery. Family visitation will be at Restland Funeral Home Monday, November 27, 2017 6-8pm. Funeral service will be at Messiah Lutheran Church in Plano on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 11 am, followed by the burial at Melissa Cemetery in Melissa, Texas. Memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
