He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.Our most precious father, Dana Anderson, 92, left this earthly life and walked into the arms of his Savior Jesus on the evening of January 24, 2018. Married to his love, Shirley, our wonderful mother, for 66 years, he was a humble, gentle, sacrificial, patient and caring father and husband. He endured Parkinson’s disease with the same quiet strength and non-complaining spirit as he handled all other life events.Children Mark, Craig, Marnie, and Lorrie will always feel blessed beyond measure to have had him as their father who modeled sacrificial love for his family. Not many dads took the time to listen and support their children the way dad did. He taught us to love simple pleasures, and though money was tight, there was always a summer vacation with fond memories of driving around the country and camping out.Sister Carolyn, 96, recalls many of their early years playing inventive games outdoors, going to youth hostels, and marveling at the beautiful Christmas tree that was decorated Christmas eve for the morning surprise. Brother-in-law, Frank, fondly remembers bike trips and delicious dinners at dad’s home and sure was happy when dad joined the family by marrying his sister!’Grandchildren Kyle, Max, Scott, Megan, Ellie, and Henry (married to Allie), loved it when granddaddy hid gum for them in his roll-top desk. Many happy hours were spent playing with granddaddy and his hand made blocks. Making breakfast waffles was a special treat, and playing backyard games was fun, and the grandchildren always managed to win.Daughters-in-law, Cathy, and Jan, along with grandson, Luke, and son-in-law, Paul, admired dad for his integrity and unconditional love.Daddy {Papa Bear} was very grateful for the love and care shown to him these last few years by caregivers Missy, Shirley, and most recently, Dee.We love you, Daddy, and are so happy you can now see, walk, and talk again in your heavenly home.
