Daniel William Carroll's Obituary
Daniel ‘Danny’ William Carroll, age 69, passed away on January 31, 2023 in Hurst, Texas. He was born on May 1,1953, in Abbeville, Louisiana to Mac James Carroll and Barbara Broderson Carroll and married Betty Carroll on February 29, 1980 in Grapevine, Texas. Danny served in the First Calvary as a mechanic in the U.S. Army from 1972-1975, and his passion for community continued in his career with the Arlington Fire Department for nearly two decades as a firefighter and EMT, responding to 911 calls for emergency medical services, fire prevention, rescue, and control.
Danny had a thirst for knowledge which he explored through his love of books, music, and meeting new people, and most remember his enthusiasm for classic cars, specifically hot rods and Chevrolets. He was a constant supporter of his two sons Mac and Sam and never missed an opportunity to share his pride in their many accomplishments. Every fall, Danny especially loved cheering for both his sons’ alma maters during the Red River Showdown between University of Texas and University of Oklahoma (Hook ‘Em and Boomer Sooner!). Attending services and leading praise and worship at Midway Church of Christ brought him great joy and purpose.
Danny is preceded in death by his father Mac James Carroll, mother Barbara Broderson Carroll, stepmother Maxine Carroll, sister Pam Keese, and nephew Daniel Bynum.
He is survived by Betty Carroll, son Mac and wife Suzy, son Sam and wife Allison, granddaughter Devan; brother Michael and wife Carla, niece Carissa; sister Jeanette and husband Don, nephews Russell & Jim; sister Tricia and husband Don, nephews Jesse & Aaron and niece Jenny; brother Charlie and wife Clara, nieces Monica & Jacqueline; sister Kim and husband Brad, nephew Kyle, niece Kelly; surviving children of sister Pam – nephews Caleb & Seth, nieces Sarah, Rebekah & Elizabeth; sister Susan.
He will be sincerely missed by his loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.
