Daniel Graham Dockery's Obituary
Graham was born in Windsor, England, on September 14, 1950 to Daniel Edgar Dockery and Peggy Grace Ottrey. He died, suddenly, on November 5, 2019, in Dallas, Texas. He was 69.He was raised In Dallas, spending summers in England with his Grandparents. Graduatiing from Hillcrest High School, he joined the Naval Air. After his tenure, he attended East Texas State University, now,Texas A&M–Commerce, for both his undergraduate and graduate work. He received a Bachelors in Industrial Arts , Social Sciences along with a Teaching Certification. Continuing, he received his Masters in Counseling He taught middle school for awhile and then decided to go back into the service, joining the Army as an Airborne Ranger. Starting out in Fort Benning, Georgia, he trained as a parachutist . He was, eventually, sent to Vincenza, Italy. He loved Italy—the people, the food, the history. He came back to the States after being injured in a jump and after a bad accident on the autobahn in Germany. He continued in the Reserves, becoming a First Lieutenant.He resumed his education by getting his LPC and began work in the Adult Probation Department of Dallas. Upon retirement, he worked as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor. He loved his work, receiving his LCDC and several other licences related to his work. The many blessings he bestowed on the down-trodden and needy are a testament of his faithfulness to the Lord. He will be missed by his family, friends, and the untold individuals he befriended.He is survived by his sister, Dania Ashmore (Jerry), and their family.A memorial service will be held in Wildwood Chapel, Restland, on November 21 at 3:00pm. Monsignor Milam Joseph will preside.In lieu of flowers, a charity of your choice may be considered.
