Daniel Joseph Galvin joined God the Father late Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Preceded in death by his parents Daniel M. Galvin and Ella Galvin. Born April 13, 1933, in Kansas City, MO. His family settled in Dallas, TX and opened an independent electrical wholesaling business, Galvin Sales Company. Dan attended University Park Elementary and Missouri Military Academy. He chose The Citadel to play football and wrestle in college. Dan answered the call to serve with The U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Was stationed at Parris Island, SC for an extended time, spent 6 years as a reservist. He earned an engineering degree from SMU and joined the family business where he spent 47 years in what became Architectural Lighting Associates.
Dan married Marilyn Galvin and brought 5 children into this world: Dan Jr, Mike, Marianne, Bill, and Sue.
Dan was remarried to Renie Galvin and brought 2 children into his world: Tim, and Dave.
Dan and Renie were married for more than 55 years. Dan loved and appreciated Renie, especially for the care, and companionship as he lived his later years from the comfort of their home.
Dan loved his children and their spouses: Lisa, Libby, Joe, Amy, Steve, Mandy, and Ashley. All 7 children spent meaningful time in the family business; Bill and Tim continue to serve as Principals in what has become Architectural Lighting Alliance. An amazing fourth generation joined ALA with Chase White and Matt Galvin. Some grandchildren have created their own beautiful families with their beloved spouses and 20 great grandchildren. An amazing and blessed family and we are forever grateful for the life of Dan J. Galvin.
