Daniel Webster Goldsmith's Obituary
Goldsmith, D. W. (Papa) Was born to Daniel W. Sr. and Nettie Goldsmith on August 5, 1922 in Birthright, Texas. He served with the U. S. Coast Guard in Galveston, Texas as the Seaman Second Class Reserve Captain of the Port from September 2, 1942 to April 14, 1944. He was preceded in death by brothers, Ernest, Lawrence, and Herman Goldsmith and sisters, Verdis and Rosa. He passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at his home in Rockwall, Texas with his family by his side. Leaving behind to celebrate his life, his wife Edith Goldsmith; daughter, Judy Jackson and husband Danny of Rockwall, TX; sons, Larry Goldsmith and wife Carla of Forney, TX, Mike Goldsmith and wife Michelle of Nevada, TX and Ronnie Goldsmith of Rockwall, TX. He has a huge following of eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He lived for his family and loved being with them more than anything else. He shared and created such wonderful memories and he will be deeply missed. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the funeral home.
