Daniel Louis Killian's Obituary
Daniel Louis Killian passed away on August 31, 2025, in Plano, Texas, at the age of 69
He was born on May 25th, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Johanna and Edgar Killian. He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sister, Sandy.
Dan worked at Kroger for 36 years in various positions at store level. Three years ago, Dan had to retire because he suddenly became legally blind due to detached retinas. He had no vision in one eye and only partial vision in the other. Despite this drastic change in life, Dan always had a good, positive attitude, and was still able to live by himself.
Before Dan’s blindness, he loved bowling in league play. He was a very accomplished bowler, rolling several 300 games. All Dan’s life he loved cats and dogs. He was a magnet for them. They would love him on sight. Funny how animals instinctively know someone kind.
Dan was always grateful and easy to please. The smallest things made him happy. It was an honor to help him navigate through the last 3+ years and spend time with him.
He will be missed so much, but we rejoice knowing that he is in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and he can see him face to face with his perfectly restored vision.
Please, no flowers. If wanting to donate in Dan’s name, please give to a no kill animal shelter or Retina Global (an organization that helps underserved areas to prevent blindness) at https://www.retinaglobal.org/donate.
