I was a 6th grade student at Mendenhall in 1969-70. I now realize how early in his teaching career this was. At 11, adult ages are hard to judge. I was in his home room in Mendenhall’s team teaching environment. I always respected his authority as a teacher because I could feel he was actually very interested in us kids. He was fair, yet firm. A lovely man, students of all those decades have benefited from his gifts to education. I only wish I could have contacted him earlier to tell him what he meant to me.
