Darlene Ann Opdyke's Obituary
OPDYKE, DARLENE A. Born in Pontiac, Michigan and died peacefully at the age of 73 following a lengthy illness. Preceded in death by Robert, her high school sweetheart and husband of 53 years. Her accomplishments were outstanding. After raising 3 children she went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Dallas, receiving a BS in Business Administration and proudly worked for Texans Credit Union for a number of years. She is survived by son, Terry and wife Lisa, 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie and JR Stephenson and Tracy and Stephen Pierce. Darlene leaves behind 4 cherished grandchildren, Nathan and Danielle Opdyke and Stevie and Grant Pierce. Darlene was an avid believer in compassion, fairness, and generosity. The family thanks Presbyterian Hospital of Plano for their kindness. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 10:00 am at Restland Funeral Home’s Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Salvation Army at 1-800-SAL-ARMY or the Dallas/Fort Worth Sheltie Rescue 972-994-7848.
