Darlie Jean Callaway's Obituary
Darlie Jean Callaway, 74, beloved mother, sister, grandparent, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence in Arlington surrounded by her family, on Sunday, February 28, 2021.
Darlie was born November 23, 1946 to Marjorie and Zecus Norris. She grew up in Garland, Texas and became a successful seamstress and embroiderer. She enjoyed making many things by hand and also did a great deal of sewing work for her children’s schools. She was recognized among her peers, community, and many sewing group friends as a talented seamstress who could make anything, whether she had a pattern or not.
Everyone who knew Darlie, knew of her great love for her puppies. She had many over the years and was preceded in death by her 2 most recent peekapoos, Willie and Zoe. They were her greatest companions and friends and she was rarely seen without at least 1 of her puppies with her.
Darlie is survived by her daughter, Debra Callaway; son, Kendall Wayne Callaway, Jr and wife Gia; grandson, Zach Ethetton and wife, Jennifer; grandson Luke Ethetton and wife, Ciera; seven great-grandchildren, brother, Philip Norris and wife Carol, nephew Andrew Norris, niece Carli Erickson and husband Josh, great-nephews Brody and Cade Erickson; she is also survived by her former husband of 50 years, Kendall Wayne Callaway Sr.; She leaves behind many good friends as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents and also by several aunts, uncles, and cousins, who she dearly loved.
A service celebrating Darlie’s life will be held Saturday at 2:30pm at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. There will be a time of visitation on Saturday, one hour before the service at 1:30pm.
