Darrel Gene Stewart's Obituary
On August 5, 2018 Darrel Gene Stewart, 84, of Carrollton, Texas went to be with the Lord. He passed on peacefully at home. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 12th at Restland Funeral Home with burial following.Gene was born in Nashville, Kansas on October 20, 1933 to Roy and Bertha Stewart. After attending several schools in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he graduated from Nashville High School in Kansas. In 1951 he met the love of his life, Louise Deen and they were married in Dallas, Texas on October 17, 1952.After being drafted into the Army in February of 1954, his young wife Louise joined him in Germany for most of his duty. Their first daughter, Michele, was born in Germany. When they returned, they settled in Farmers Branch, Texas where they welcomed their second daughter, Melinda.In 1995, Gene retired from his business, Art Enterprises. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and camping with his wife, daughters, son in laws and their fourteen grandchildren.Gene is survived by his wife of 65 years, Louise Stewart, his two daughters Michele (Dean) Aukes of Sherman, Texas and Melinda (James) Kimberlin of Howe, Oklahoma, as well as fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
