David Roy Basinger's Obituary
BASINGER, DAVID ROY age 84, of Fort Worth, TX, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 4:45 AM. He was born on September 28, 1929 in Tuscaloosa, AL to his parents, R. Louie and Elizabeth Basinger. David was the oldest of 3 children. He married Nancy McCracken Basinger in Columbus, MS on June 20, 1953. They had 3 children. He attended University of Alabama and graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering. He served in the Air Force for 5 years. A veteran of the Korean War, he earned The Korean Service Medal, The United Nations Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. David was a patriot who practiced his love of God and Country on a daily basis. He was a former resident of Richardson, TX for 45 years. He was employed by AT&T as an Electrical Engineer for 20 years. David was a member of St. Barnabas Church, VFW Post 627 Richardson, TX, and American Legion Post 379, Bedford, Tx. He enjoyed reloading, and shooting sports. David will be remembered by his loving children, Douglas Basinger and wife, Donna of Glen Rose, TX , Dorrie Basinger of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Diana Basinger Thomason and husband, Bradley; Sara Fearn Foster and husband, Robert and Anthony Robert Fearn; great grandchildren, Carmen Thomason and Mason Foster. He also leaves a sister, Dorrie Driver of Alabama and brother, Robert P. and wife, Cleta Basinger of Austin. Preceded in death by his wife, Nancy McCracken Basinger, and son, Michael David Basinger. Graveside services will be Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Restland Memorial Park.
