David Bourneuf's Obituary
David Bourneuf passed away at the age of 71 on Thursday, December 14, 2023 in Dallas, TX. He will be sincerely missed by his loving family and devoted friends.
David was born to Leonard and Mary (Burke) Bourneuf on June 18, 1952 in Bangor, Maine. He grew up in New England, and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1975 with a Bachelor’s degree in History. David married his beloved wife Debbie in St. Louis, Missouri in 1995. He had a long and varied career in telecommunications, moving residences over the years to Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas.
David enjoyed sports in general, but his favorite hobby was golf, and he was proud to have made two holes-in-one during his playing years. As a younger man, he played ice hockey and racquetball. He enjoyed reading and history, and reading about history. His favorite vacations were his and Debbie’s hiking vacations in the National Parks and other beautiful locations, and their many trips to Santa Fe, New Mexico.
David laughed easily and often. He never sought the limelight and had no need or desire to be the center of attention. Throughout life but particularly during his final illness, he fearlessly summoned both the remarkable serenity to accept the things he could not change, and the quietly steadfast courage to change the things he could. He leaves behind a wife who is fiercely proud of the kind and honorable person that her husband was and is deeply grateful for the time they had together.
David is survived by his wife Debbie Jeanne (McClung) Bourneuf; brother Geoffrey Bourneuf and his wife Carole of Williston, VT; son Matthew Bourneuf; grandchildren Kimiya and Arman Bourneuf; and six nieces and four nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Mary Bourneuf; his brother Leonard Bourneuf, who he loved dearly; and his grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
At this time, memorial services for David Bourneuf will be at 12:00 pm on Friday January 12,2024 at the Abbey Chapel Restland Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made in David's honor to the Alzheimer's Association.
We’ll see you on the 19th hole, Love.
