Mr. David Wayne Carpenter's Obituary
David Carpenter, 71, of Garland, Texas passed away on March 30, 2023. David was born July 19, 1951 in Overton, Texas to Kenneth and Clarah Carpenter. He resided in Tyler, Texas during his youth where he attended John Tyler High School and participated in various sports.
He served 8 years in the U.S. Marine Corps having been stationed in Japan, Kingsville and San Diego. He was honorably discharged as a Staff Sargent and Drill Instructor at MCRD, San Diego.
After the millitary, he became an Executive Housekeeper at Tyler Community Hospital in Tyler, then moved on to Baylor Hospital in Dallas. He also did carpentry and various other building projects on the side. For the last 17 years before retiring, he worked as an over the road truck driver.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Kenneth Sr. and Clarah Carpenter, brother Ken Jr. and his beloved wife of 28 years Irene Carpenter.
He is survived by his brother, Lynn Carpenter, Ft. Worth; sons John Carpenter, Arp; Clint Carpenter, Frisco; Kenneth Carpenter, Sachse; Clay Carpenter, Frisco; Dan Zane, Valrico, FL; daughters Tricia Zane, Broken Bow, OK; Judy Zane, Aurora, CO; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A graveside memorial for David is being held at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 11:30am with a visitation at 10am.
